Puamelia Class (Ages 4-12)
Day: Saturdays
Time: 1:15 p.m. till 2:15 p.m.
Class Description:
Students in this class will focus mainly on the basics of hula, beginning language, basic colors, and basic "hula" terminology. Students should bring weekly a notebook for gathering of materials as well as writing materials. Students in this class will also learn basic hula songs and may be asked to perform on occasion.
 
Mokihana Class (Teenagers 13-17)
Day: Saturdays
Time: 2:30pm - 3:45pm
Class Description:
Students in this class will also learn a variety of dance styles, such as Hula, Tahitian, Maori.  The Mokihana class will stress the basic hula steps and, while also adding more advanced steps. Students should bring weekly a notebook for gathering of materials as well as writing materials.
 
Tahitian/Polynesian Class (5-Adult)
Day: Saturday's
Time: 3:45 p.m. - 5:00 pm
Class Desciption: All students will learn basic tahitian steps, this class may also learn other polynesian dances such at Poi.
 
Kukui Class (Boys Ages 4-12)
Day: Saturdays
Time: 2:30 p.m. 3:45 p.m.
Class Description:
Boys in this class will learn a variety of dance styles including Hula, Tahitian, Maori, & Samoan Fire Knife (if applicable). They will first focus on the basics of dance in each of these categories. Students should bring weekly a notebook for gathering of materials as well as writing materials. Students in this class may be asked to perform on occasion.
 
 
Student Tuition:
Students are asked to submit a monthly tuition amount of $40.00.  All tuition submissions are used for overhead items such as rent, utilities, and class materials. Students may be asked to purchase additional items that will belong to students such as costumes, implements and other Halau associated items.

Pikake Class (Beginning Women)
Day: Saturdays
Time: 12:00 p.m. till 1:00 p.m.
 
Class Description:
Students in this class will focus on the basics of hula. We include some language and basic interpretation. Students should bring weekly a notebook for gathering of materials as well as writing materials. Students in this class may often be asked to perform, although it will not be required.
 
Ilima Class (Advanced Women)
Day: Fridays
Time: 6:30 p.m. till 8:30 p.m.
 
Class Description:
Students in this class will have advanced knowledge of hula and should know all basic and advanced steps for hula, as well as other forms of Polynesian dance. Students in this class are by invitation only and must pass a basic/advanced hula workshop. Students should also bring with them a notebook and will often be asked to perform as the main representation of the halau.
 
MUSICIANS WANTED:
Hula Hui Na Haumana O Alaka is currently seeking individuals who play either guitar or bass. We are also seeking individuals who are interested in learning or have previous knowledge of Tahitian drumming or toere experience.
